ATAL-98 was co-located with the ``Agents World'' series of events, held in Paris in July 1998. The centrepiece of these events was the Third International Conference on Multi-Agent Systems (ICMAS). About 90 submissions were received, and 120 delegates registered for ATAL. The workshop included panels on the BDI model of agency, and on programming languages for agents.
The proceedings were published under the title Intelligent Agents V, as volume 1555 of Springer-Verlag's Lecture Notes in AI series.
